Paint in Fish Tank
So, is the concensious that you should use a two part epoxy paint for
inside an aquarium.I am restoring a 10 gal visible 1920 is gas pump, and
using as an indoor aquarium. There are a few metal pipes that l wanna leave
in.Wondering also if it might just be better to clean up pipes with wire
wheel, and not paint? Will exposed metal submerged in the tank hurt angel
fish?
Never put exposed metal in an aquarium! The rusting process
will contaminate the water & harm ur fish. If you do decide to paint use a
non toxic rust inhibiting paint & you will have to coat the inside of the
pipe as well. Some breeds of fish will eat algae & if they are nibble on a
painted surface there is a chance they will ingest some & become sick
little fishies. If you have the option to remove the pipes you should
consider doing so. The effect will not be as creative but you will save yourself a lot of heartache & exspense. A piece of dritwood or a live plant is a much safer alternative.
Are you kidding? I hope so 'cause I never heard of putting
fish inside of anything with ''paint''. No paint, sterile fresh tank from
store..get proper instructions.
AFTER U FILL IT UP WITH WATER PUT A bAR OF SOAP IN THERE THAT
WILL CURE EVERY THING bUT MAKE SURE THE FISH ARE IN THE TANK WHEN YOU
ENTER THE SOAP SO THE WILL bECOME IMMUNE TO THE SOAP
